faxing, telemarketing and automated voice messaging are
regulated by
the Federal Communications Commission and various state statutes.
In the very near future, we expect unsolicited e-mail
to be regulated
on the federal and state levels as well. The FCC provides a
wealth of information on this subject. The links below may

Below is a letter sent to our clients
detailing our policy regarding unsolicited faxing...
Since comHAUS’ inception in 1999, it has always been
our goal to help clients utilize e-messaging RIGHT — both
effectively and legally. This means:
1) Sending “Value Based” messages
2) To qualified recipients, from whom you have permission
to send e-messages
3) Using good messaging etiquette
Toward this end, in compliance with FCC guidelines, we strictly
adhere to the following procedures:
The FCC mandates that all faxes must,
at the top or bottom of the page, print:
- Date sent
- Name of sender/business
- Time sent
- Sender telephone number
All faxes sent by comHAUS will have the Date and Time printed
on the fax header. Should the document not contain the sending
company 1) name and 2) phone number upon receipt, your service
representative will work with you to insert it attractively
into the document.
The FCC prohibits
faxing to entities with which you do not have an established
business relationship. comHAUS will not transmit faxes to lists we suspect
of being “unqualified”.
While historically, it has been
understood that “where
an established relationship exists, permission to fax is
presumed to exist”, some people/attorneys are challenging
this assumption.
It is our recommendation that you telephone verify your
lists prior to sending faxes. To be safe, get permission
before sending fax messages.
While we do not mandate it, it is our
recommendation that all outbound faxes contain:
1) polite language, and
2) a user-friendly mechanism to allow recipients to remove
themselves from your distribution list.
Again, should the
document not contain “Do Not Fax” information
upon receipt, your representative will work with you to insert
it attractively into the document. Make sure you’re
a “polite faxer”.
comHAUS offers you the following services
to facilitate the above procedures:
1) Telephone list verification:
We’ll call your contacts
and ask permission to send a fax
2) Toll-free fax # removal: Toll-free system allowing recipients
to add their name to a master Do Not Fax list via touch tone
telephone
3) Toll-free fax reception: Toll-free system allowing recipients
to fax their document back and be added to a master Do Not
Fax list
4) E-mail messaging, Voice messaging & US Mail service:
For those who “just don’t like faxes”
5) “Mail merge” faxing/e-mail:
Personalize your faxes/e-mails like a mail merged letter
6) Copywriting/design: To create personalized messages which
deliver VALUE
We appreciate your business and hope to work with you for
a long time to come. Please ensure your messages adhere to
the above guidelines. We welcome your comments and feedback.
Thanks!
